"As the London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden I support the work of Shomrim North West London. Shomrim plays a vital role in the community, and is a valuable link between the police service and the Jewish community. After recent atrocities, particularly those in France, it is all the more important that the British Jewish Community can feel safe and secure in their homes, places of work, worship and in public spaces.
I particularly the value the work of Shomrim in the community after the reduction in ward designated police community support officers. The partnership between Shomrim and the police should be commended and recognised for its effectiveness, and should serve as a demonstration of the gold standard in police-community liaison. I am delighted to continue working to support Shomrim, and highlight the work you do." |
